Just Another Monday Morning???

I woke up this morning and strolled to the other side of my place to turn on the stereo, just like I do every weekday. I was listening to the traffic report on the radio, while sitting here at my computer, and realized that I have absolutely no place to go. Why do I care about the traffic? I have no work to go to anymore…well not for a few weeks. So why was I up before 7:00 AM then? Habit, I guess. Maybe I will sleep in tomorrow, say to 7:30 AM. The worst part about not having anywhere to go is that I don’t have any food in my house. I can’t even just sit here and eat all day. I am never home, who needs groceries and should I go shopping just to move in 10 days or so?

On a “what a party note,” the final bash at my house was pretty rockin. I had about 20 of the people I invited show up. I broke open the bar and we had many happy patrons. Around 1:30 AM we decided we wanted to make last call downtown. So off about 10 of us went in two cars. We made it down to a bar, which is really just a hole in the wall, for one last drink and one final shot. It was a great night…not near as much fun as That Girl had this weekend. I mean I didn’t drunk dial my ex’s mom or anything. I haven’t drunk dialed anyone in about 15 years, which I think is also the last time I drunk dialed someone and their mom answered. Don’t worry TG, letting go is a process, and sometimes the process involves doing things that are stupid and embarrassing…we have all done it.

It was a really long Saturday night for me, as I played poker at the card house after everyone else went home. I didn’t make it home until Sunday morning. I went home down a little money and really tired. I spent most of yesterday sleeping, cleaning and eating leftover tortilla soup from my party. Thank TS for making the soup.

I do have a lot to do in the next two weeks. I even made a list. They are packing up my shit on the 20th. It is nice that someone is coming in to pack it up, but I still need to go through it all and make sure to dispose of all the junk. Moving is a great time to clean house.

Speaking of moving, my real estate agent has suggested a neighborhood for me in Virginia. She and I have traded emails and once I described my current living conditions and rent, she thought that the Ballston/Clarendon area in Arlington might be right for me. She did say I would have about a 35 minute commute. I am not sure I like that, but depending on my options, I might have to live with it for a while. Anyone know this neighborhood? What do you think?

Well, I will end this dribble now. I am sure I have things to do, like rearrange my sock drawer or sit on the couch and watch reruns of the Creek…busy, busy, busy.
