My Update

I am sitting in the airport in Kansas City using their free Internet service and since I have another 90 minutes to kill, I thought I would post an update. I have been writing very little lately, mainly because very little has been going on. I did have a great dinner with HRH last weekend at a nice Argentinean restaurant in Bethesda, as well as a dinner with some friends on the edge of the world. They really do live out in the middle of no where. Over all it was a good three day weekend for me.

Speaking of Bethesda, I sent an email to a woman on Match that lives in Bethesda and her response was that we lived to far away from one another so she didn’t think it would work. Really? Bethesda? That is like a 15 minute drive at most. I personally don’t think long distance relationships work out very well, but I don’t consider 15 miles to be long distance. I guess distance is a matter of perspective. She was probably just making something up to be nice. Hey, I appreciate that she even emailed me back…most people don’t.

I have been emailing with another woman on Match and I am supposed to call her later tonight. We are meeting on Friday night, but a phone conversation seems prudent before we actually meet. From what HRH has told me, you can weed out many a possible dates with a single phone conversation. From HRH posts, I have figured out that I should stay away from questions like, “What is your bra size?” To be honest, I am not really sure what two perfect strangers are supposed to talk about the first time they call one another. I mean after I get through the weather and how damn hot it is, I guess I will have to wing it.

This online dating thing is hard. Wasn’t it supposed to make things easier?

I am off to LA next week for four days as well. I personally hate LA, but I can’t help it. You see, I grew up in Northern California. They put something in the water there that develops an aversion to Southern California. I do have to admit that the year I lived in San Diego was fantastic. But LA is no San Diego. My LA trip is work related and I am sure it will be mostly boring. My company is sponsoring a big party on Monday night, so that might be fun.

Not too much else going on in the World O Blue. Have a good one all.
