Remember when I said I wasn’t in that bad of shape, I lied. More on that later. Here are a few random things from my weekend so far.
I woke up at 11:00 AM this morning, I know shut up. I was up arranging my apartment until about 3:00 AM so it really isn’t that bad. I decided to go and get an Arnold Palmer (half lemonade - half tea) from Starbucks outside my building and a non-fat blueberry muffin for breakfast. What do I walk right into at the Town Center? A Starbucks street fair. About 6 big tents giving out samples of about every coffee there is in the world. Not to mention a seminar on the different coffees in each tent. Just what we need around here more over caffeinated people walking around. They also had a band playing in the courtyard…not bad. I listened for a bit and then went on my way.
My company asked all of the employees to load a new software on their home PCs as a way to evaluate it. I am a good employee so I did it this morning. My machine froze immediately, when I turned off the software (did not remove it yet), I noticed that my IE also was fubar. My Outlook had errors and my machine was working at snail speeds. I removed the software and voilà, all is right with the world again. Well at least on my PC. My evaluation – the software sucks.
I was a little tired of opening boxes and unpacking today, so I decided to go downstairs to the gym and work out. First time since I moved in. Hell, first time in close a year. This is when I realized I was out of shape. 12 minutes on the treadmill, a couple laps around the circuit machines and 12 minutes on the elliptical (which I hate BTW) and I feel pretty much dead. I really need to start getting to the gym on a regular basis. I mean it is only 3 floors down. I am hoping to get into better shape for my European trip in October. I don’t want to look like the typical fat American tourist while cruising around Italy, France and Spain.
I am trying to decide whether I want to go to a wine festival tomorrow. It is like 75 miles from here, so about 90 minutes. That seems far to go for wine, unless it is Opus One. I probably won’t go, but you never know how I will feel tomorrow.
I am thinking of suing Real Networks. In all their new Rhapsody advertising they are showing a montage of record albums. I created this one years ago and I am sure they stole it. Go ahead and save it to your PC. It makes a great wallpaper.
Another reason I love my new apartment, the dry cleaners pick up and drop off my stuff with the concierge. No more trips to the cleaners for me. Man, I am getting spoiled. Or is it lazy? Maybe that is why I am out of shape. Where will it end, how much longer until I don’t need to leave my couch, let alone my apartment?
Speaking of leaving the apartment, I am heading to the grocery store to get some stuff to make my own sangria. I might as well add those calories back on. Enjoy the rest of you weekend.

Wow...what kind of building has a concierge?
That sounds like a really nice apartment, or a hotel. I'd love a Starbucks street fair!
