I thought I planned this out so well. I did everything right. I printed out all of my in-flight reading material last night. I scheduled my appointments so that I would be near the airport at 2:00 PM today, so I could go straight there and get on a plane. I packed last night. Everything was in place. Everything was going so well. I even finished my last appointment 15 minutes early allowing me to get to the airport earlier than I had planned. Get to the airport, get a primo parking spot, trek through the terminal, no luggage to check so I get to use the automated check in terminal…and that’s when it all came crumbling down…that’s right you guessed it…
FLIGHT CANCELLED
My afternoon flight was cancelled due to mechanical difficulties, and although I am glad they caught the difficulties before we got in the air, the next flight to DC is six hours later. Now I am on the red eye arriving in DC at 6:30 AM. So much for my plans of getting a good night’s sleep. Now I am relegated to sleeping on the plane. I will still check into my hotel around 7:00 AM for an 11:30 check out. I guess I could nap for a few hours once I get there, but that probably won’t help.
So now my one day trip back east consisting of 11 hours on planes for four interviews has just become a hell trip.
