You know what makes Fridays so great? It’s the promise of the upcoming weekend. It’s the unknown adventures that could ensue. It’s the end of a long week. It’s the thought of happy hour. For some of us, it’s the fact that it’s payday. It’s the promise of staying out late and sleeping in the next day. It’s the lack of bosses, employees and company rules for two days. Let’s face it, Fridays really are great.
My weekend should is partially planned. Well at least most of it is. I have no idea what I am doing tonight…maybe nothing. I will spend tomorrow during the day painting my wall, with my sister’s help of course. But tomorrow night, well that is the big one. My sister got us tickets to a private show, not open to the public (yeah, that is what private means), of the Goo Goo Dolls in San Francisco.
I have actually been a fan of the Goo Goo Dolls for a long time. I started listening to them, well, about the same time as everyone else. They have a rather interesting story. They spent years as a punk band, until a DJ noticed one song on their “A Boy Named Goo” album. The DJ like the song “Name” and began playing it on the radio station. Well it took off and next thing this Buffalo based group knew, they were superstars. The song “Name” actually was the most played song that year in the country. Pretty good for a punk band that had probably 35 fans.
So that will be my Saturday night. I will most likely be watching football at least part of Sunday. There is a farmers market in Jack London Square every Sunday. I may have to head down there to do a little shopping.
So those are my weekend plans. How about you?
