More than you want to know...

Weird confession time...I have been infatuated with the song "My Funny Valentine" since I first heard it in the movie "Sharky's Machine." Anyone remember that Burt Reynolds film? He plays a cop sent to the loser's department because he fucks up. There he works on a case and ends up surveilling high priced hookers. One of them, played by Rachel Ward, played the song a lot. Anyway, the movie was OK for it's time but hardly memorable.

So since then, I am always looking for a new version of the song. I have about 30 on my computer. I am always amazed at all the people who redo the song. I have versions by people like Nina Simone and Chet Baker. I even have the Matt Damon version from the "Talented Mr. Ripley." I have jazz versions by Miles Davis and Chris Botti. Versions from more modern artists like Anita Baker and Elvis Costello (a great version by the way). Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé for the lounge versions. Some bluesier versions by people like the Gotan Project and a great piano version by Michel Petrucciani.

Like I said, it is weird confession time. Do any of you have a weird obsession like this or have I just shared way to much?
