Good Night From Virginia

Well, I am coming to the end of my training class and getting ready to head home. I always enjoy spending time on the East Coast, but this trip has been especially great. I got to catch up with old friends, I got to hang out with new friends and I got to get to know some of my colleagues. What more could you ask for? So let me tell you what is on tap for tonight - my last night in town.

The entire training class is heading into DC to see some of the monuments. I am particularly interested in seeing the new WWII monument. I have spent time in DC before and find the city to be amazing. If you have never visited the city, you should make an effort to do so. There is really no city like it in the country. Just make sure not to wander to far from the monument areas as outside of DC is also some of the worst neighborhoods in the country.

After a little trip around DC, the group is heading to Georgetown to have a final dinner together. Well this is actually only the second dinner I have had with them as they are mostly at a different hotel and me and my fellow Cali boys have not made to many efforts to hook up with them. I mean we spend 8 hours a day together in class, let's not over do it. I always enjoy visiting Georgetown even though it is a very touristy area. There is really nothing wrong with tourist areas. I mean for tourist they bring all the essentials into one location - shopping, eating and sight seeing.

We have a half day of class tomorrow and then it is off to the airport to go home. We are flying on Jet Blue. Not sure if any of you have ever flown that airline, but the TV's in every seat is pretty cool. Not just monitors, but actual TV's. You can watch ABC, NBC etc. while you fly. I will probably be watching some of the US Open.

I will probably try to relax this weekend and then back to work. My teams already have appointments set for me next week, so it should be busy. Before I leave, I thought I would go over some of the highlights of the trip.

1. Seeing old friends. It has been 10 years since I have seen my friend and it always amazes me how we can pick up where we left off. Not to mention seeing someone I have not seen for 20 years. I loved seeing him, but wish that the years had been better for him or that he had found a way to grow in that time.

2. Meeting new friends. I really feel as though I made some new friends this trip. I always felt close to some of my blog buddies, but in an anonymous way. I will never feel the same about TG, Jas, IG, HC, EM and RC. They are much more than blog buddies now.

3. Meals with my Cali boys. We work together and I think this trip was a great bonding experience for us. Although there were 16 people in this class, the three of us spent most of our time together.

4. The food. Wow did I have some great meals. The best being at Bistro B in Bolton Hill ouside Baltimore. I may be biased because the chef is the brother of my pal, but the food was still incredible.

5. I have to also make a mention of the waitress there who served us - Christina. I fell in love with her over the two days we were together. Nothing beats a beautiful, sassy brunette.

6. Naked women. Not sure I need to say more, but spending the night talking with naked girls is pretty much a highlight of any trip.

7. Playing golf after class. I only got to play once, but it was very enjoyable. Nine holes is better than no holes any day. It was nice being paired with two guys who actually could play the game. I spend so much time playing with beginners that I have forgotten what it is like to play with people on my level. Yeah, I am good...deal with it.

8. The waitress at Howl at the Moon. OK I liked her as you may be able to tell from TG pictures, but that is OK. I have learned that I am easily infatuated.

9. Looking down TG shirt. It is not everyday that you get to see a rack like that up close and personal. Thanks TG.

10. A few of the people in the class. Not just the girls for you gutter minded people out there. Although I will admit that a few of the girls, oh excuse me...women, in the class were hot, some of the guys were also very cool to be around. Without this group, this class could have been a real snorer. These people made the class and the experience something I would say was worth while.

Well that is it from Virginia.
