A Rave Review for Blue

I was visiting some old site this week and I ran across a post from one of the girls I met on Match this year. We dated a few times, but in the end there was really no connection between us. Her latest post is a scathing review of the last three guys that she met online and the sheer stupidity of men in the dating world. I was surprised to find this toward the end of her post:

"I would like to say, though, that not all of my meetings/dates have been like this. I have met some very nice people with whom I still talk, email, and see. I think the best date I have had, while using Match, was with Blue: we went to the Hirshorn Museum, walked around the National Mall, the National Gallery of Art, then had tapas and Spanish wine at a funky restaurant in Arlington. It is funny that the positive experiences do not warrant quotes as much as the shocking negative."
So there you have it – Blue gets a rave review. I would be proud of this, except having read about the last three guys she met through Match, I don’t think it took much to be on the top of that list. It is nice to know that I am not being lumped into the pile of Internet dating losers.

You poor thing!! I am so sorry! How's this (because things have changed since that post and I have met someone with whom I have fallen madly in LOVE!)

"Thanks to Blue, I kept trying, knowing there are some decent guys out there, and he one of the most. Now, I have been rewarded more fully than I ever DREAMED!! Today, we took the kids to Six Flags for a meet/greet. Each of us had met the other's kids earlier, but this was the absolute icing on the cake. Fantastic time was had by all. Trips to NY, company picnics, class reunions, family trips, etc are all in the works. Trust is there; respect there, adoration there, and I get a thrill EVERY time I see him or he calls. I thank Blue for making me feel like a lady in the first place. He's a great guy.

And yes, you are right that, ultimately, there was no connection between us, but I truly think that it is possible that experiences, like ours AND the others mentioned (can you imagine the gaul!?!) prep us for the ultimate joys.

Plus, my shouldn't be construed as bad, despite the stark contrast of the 'others'. YOURS was the best (until now) and the three posted the amusing/disgusting/humiliating worst! There is a small range between, but you were great! :) Good luck. Plus, you were the one to get me started blogging, right?

I forgot to add: I have also started a new job with a government contractor that is incredible!! Sometimes it is scary when details of your life slip into blissful place and you are afraid to take a breath in fear of things slipping out of place. BUT, that is the risk we all take in our quest for happiness, right? :)

You can forward the e-mail I got from a crazy guy from Match who was pissed at me for refusing a second date. He stalked me and found my e-mail address.

And you should be proud of the review, too many loser guys out there......girls too.

I always knew you're one of the good guys. I mean you're a Trekkie and you like Calvin and Hobbes... what more could a woman want?

:)

Stacey - I am glad things have gone so well for you. I am sure I would have a better chance if I actually felt like I was trying. Maybe that is why I never meet the right girl, becasue right now I don't care if I do. Good luck with the new relationship.

Kris - I try to avoid the stalkers personally. But knowing a little about you, i would be upset too if you didn't want a second date from me. ;)

Lilybean - Come on who doesn't like Calvin and Hobbs. Best cartoon ever. Besides, I am holding our for you!

Somehow I'm not surprised, esp. when reading what you did for your first date. There are some weirdos out there, but I think that applies to dating in general and not just because of doing it through Match.
