Casa de Blue

I finally found a place I am willing to live in. It is not ideal, but it will have to do for the next 12 months. It costs a little more than what I paid in California, and it's a little smaller, but what can you do? It is a 2 bedroom and 2 bath place with a fire place.

I took the advice of many of you and chose the site that was nearest work. I figured this would be best in the short term. It is in the Reston Town Center (RTC), so I am near some restaurants, bars and shopping. There is also a movie theater. Although I went to the movies last weekend, and the theater is definitely not that impressive. I figure after a year, I will be seriously sick of the RTC. Then I will move closer to DC and live with the commute. I will buy a place then and can be choosey and get what I want and not settle for something because it is available.

I should be able to move in next week, just in time as I only had until next Saturday before I was forced to live in a cardboard box. OK, that is a slight exaggeration as my company was willing to extend my stay in "hotel free" until the end of the month. But I want to get moved so I can begin to settle into a normal life. Well, as normal as my life ever is.

I am driving to NYC this afternoon for a graduation ceremony. My friend's wife is graduating and since I was best man at their wedding, it seemed like a good reason to visit. I am expecting about a four hour drive, so I am going to leave a little early today. Just a weekend of dinners and drinking, just what every growing boy needs.

Have a great weekend.
