Greetings From Seattle

First off I want to say congratulations to all of the Steeler fans out there. I know that Sunday's victory was monumental for them. To the Seahawk fan's credit, the loss didn't seem to dampen their spirits in the aftermath of the game.

We watched the game at a friend of a friend's house. Their house was in what you might call the better part of town, not that I have seen the ghetto here is Seattle. Being at their house just reinforced one thought for me...I was meant to be wealthy. These people were living large. Not only did they own the house they were in, but they have a guest house on the lot behind them...they owned the lot next to them, no house and were building a new house, on the lake, on the lot across the street. We watched the game one of two plasma TVs in the house...the one I watched was an Elite Pioneer model about 50" inches in size. Any one who knows plasmas knows that is one expensive TV. The nice thing really wasn't the house or the TV, but the hospitality. I found them and their friends to be some of the nicest people I have met. They welcomed Nick and I into their homes as though they had known us forever. Friends of friends...what a wonderful concept. I guess most friends at one time were friends of friends.

Well after the game we went back downtown to commiserate with many of the Seahawk fans. Four of us, including my underage son (I am sure I am going to hell for this someday), went to a bar and began drinking. Well at 3:00 AM Nick and I found ourselves walking back to the hotel on the empty streets of Seattle. It was a beautiful night and the walk was refreshing. It was a long day of drinking and I learned a little something about my son. He is much like me...somewhat quiet until he gets some alcohol in him and then all of a sudden you have a social butterfly on your hands. He didn't seem to get the concept that he was underage and should keep a low profile. He met more people in the bar than I did. All in all it was a good night, but made for a long Monday...more for him than me to be honest.

I spent most of today walking around downtown, visiting the Experience Music Project (EMP), and touring the Science Fiction Museum. My time here, which included seeing the sun every day so far, has been very nice and I see why so many people say they love living here. It also reinforced something I decided a long time ago...that there are many, many beautiful women walking around in Seattle at any given moment. I am not talking about the occasional good looking girl you see, I mean flocks of them. I don't know exactly what it is, but I think it has to do with the weather here. I mean most girls have a very natural beauty here. They don't all have tans or have their hair bleached. They look natural and I think the weather gives them a sort of rosey glow to their faces. It is quite refreshing and has made me consider living in this great city someday.

I am going to Capital Hill tonight with Nick for dinner and to look around. He says it is a another great part of town and my hotel is very close to it...Got to go for now.
