My Optimum Weight

After reading all of the blogs lately about the numerous diets going on with all of my buds, I started to think about how I have changed since I was in my mid 20's. I got out of the Navy when I was 24 and was in the best shape of my life. I stayed in pretty good shape for about the next 10 years. Then it started.

You get older and staying in shape becomes so much harder. It's funny that for the last five years, whenever someone mentioned that I seem to be "eating good," I would retort I am still trying to get up to my optimum weight. Well it seems that I sped past my optimum weight right to the weight I am at now. This is what caused me to join the gym last month. I am still going to the gym a minimum of three times a week. Once I am unemployed at the end of the month, I will have plenty of time to go to the gym every day. I also have started watching what I eat. I am not sure I would call it a diet as much as I am just eating better.

So far all of my efforts are starting to pay off. I have lost some pounds and am feeling better. I am determined to get back down to my optimum weight. Especially if there is going to be a Vegas blogger get together.

Some of my fellow bloggers have inspired me to go ahead and post some photos of me on my picture page (see what you started Amber). I decided to share with the rest of you exactly what I am talking about in this post. I posted a picture of me shortly after I left the Navy, one from about 6 years ago and one that was taken today.
