Standout Lyrics

You ever notice that there can be on or two lines of a song that can really resonate with you? You like the song just because of those lines. Those lines stick out brighter than anything else in the whole song. My sister always says that I remember every line to every song. I am sure that is a bit of an exaggeration, but I do remember a lot of them. Well, I picked ten of my favorites…well ten I could think of today at least. They are from new songs as well as old songs. See if you can spot any of them. Click the links to hear them.

1. I know there’s little use in crying
It’s more wide awake and dying than I’m used to
I thought we’d walk these streets together
Now I’m hoping that I’ll never have to meet you

2. Winter just wasn’t my season

3. And we never failed to fail
It was the easiest thing to do.

4. It’s coming down to nothing more than apathy

5. It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this?
It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss

6. Like a vision she dances across the porch
As the radio plays

7. And the talkin' leads to touchin'
And the touchin' leads to sex
And then there is no mystery left

8. Somebody going to emergency
Somebody’s going to jail

9. Could I have been anyone other than me?

10. You can feel her by your side in an empty room
And words like forever, you spoke too soon

I got a lot going on right now including a trip to NJ to help my friends move…well I can promise I will be very little help. Luckily for them they have plenty of other volunteers. I am getting ready for my Spain trip – only 12 more days. E-Dog is visiting next weekend. I am also talking with a new girl on match that so far I really like. We’ll see what happens when we meet in person and my “picky gene” takes over. Updates to come next week. Anyway, everyone have a great weekend.

Was Noah a DMB Fan?

I am not really sure what to say about the DMB concert last night. It was

WET,
WET,
WET!

The timing was perfect. The rain started about 5 minutes before Dave came on stage and did not let up for an hour. The people around us seemed to enjoy the rain. Many, many people were sliding down the 20 foot hill into the rushing water along the walkway. It was a big slip-n-slide with a very hard stop.

But eventually, the clouds parted, a star appeared (only one and I am sure it was Mars or some other planet), and the night cleared. Of course by then I was soaked, TG was soaked, we were all soaked. Now if I sound like I am complaining – I’m not - or if you are starting to feel sorry for me – don’t.

First we knew it was supposed to rain and we came somewhat prepared. I didn’t have an umbrella or a poncho, but I did have a change of clothes, which made the ride home a bit more comfortable. Secondly, we had a great time before the concert. It was a relatively traffic and stress free ride to the venue. We sat around drinking home made sangria and eating munchies listening to music. We found a great spot on the hill even though we went in later than most.

And of course the music was great.

I told TG last night that this is the second time I have seen DMB and both time have been from the lawn seats. The next time I go to witness the DMB in person, I would like to do it from one of the seats near the stage. The covered seats near the stage.

Blue’s Classroom Review

So what did we learn this weekend?

We learned that the Kelly Bell Band and their Phat Blues is pretty damn hot.

We learned that TG has a bigger apartment than I do and it probably costs less. However, she doesn't have the outdoor mall outside her door.

We learned that Kewl Kid is pretty cool.

We learned that Crocs may be the most comfortable shoes, but they are also the ugliest shoes ever made, despite the opinion of drunken white guys.

We learned that HRH only likes the actual center of a pretzel and would prefer to have the outside cut away. However, she is willing to have the outside of the pretzel sent to Sally Struthers to feed all those kids.

We learned that people from Maryland think wine is made from a fruit other than grapes. Mango wine, really?

We learned that despite all the fruity wines, you can find a decent bottle of wine to drink at these wine festivals.

We learned that drunken white guys who are hiding their six-pack in the back of the fridge, behind a lot of other groceries, should leave their shirt on.

We learned that Blogger is actually really cool because without it, I wouldn’t know any of these people.
